Toyota has unleased their latest invention! The C-Plus Pod. A miniature electric vehicle capable of bringing on new forms of energy efficiency. This machine is basically the size of a Smart Fortwo. But with different intention.

The compact car is capable of short-distance travel. Rightly so, when measured at 98 inches long, 61 inches tall and 51 inches wide. It weighs about 1,500 pounds. It’s got more function than you think, when favoring the former over the latter of fashionability. Interior design lends to be very minimalist, in maybe the most utilitarian way.

The electric motor has a 9.1 kilowatt lithium-ion battery mounted underneath the driver, in the floor. It can push the vehicle to about 37 miles per hour. Front disc brakes and drums make for even more drag than rush.

The battery is rather appropriately-sized but the top speed lacking in the vehicle doesn’t make it so attractive. On the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle test cycle, Toyota has it tested at a cruising range of 150 kilometers. The EPA could possibly diminish it should they ever get their clutches on the clutch.

They have about 1,500 watts of power they deliver during power outages and can go until 10 hours. What’s more, is that the C-Plus Pod comes with a standard pre-collision system which can detect other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. The automaker fits it in with parking sensors as well.

Toyota is planning to construct the small machine of big dreams in Japan’s Motomachi Plant. Select customers from local governments and corporations will be the recipients for now. Expect the pool to widen to the general public in 2022. Therefore, it’s not totally out of the question for the car to have an expensive price tag. Currently, the C-Plus Pod is totaling at $16,000 USD. Zip-around if you like but this may be one of the most perfected miniature electric cars around. No frills about it.
