One of the best parts of the season changing from summer to fall is the beautiful autumnal landscapes we get to enjoy. Oregon is home to some of the best fall       scenic routes, with plenty of gorgeous roads taking you through a trail of trees covered in fall covered leaves and foliage on the ground. If you are looking for the places to go to enjoy the fall trees, here are our favorite Oregon road trips just for that!

Columbia River Gorge

The trek along the Columbia River Gorge is a great way to experience fall foliage. Traveling along Interstate 84 is a great way to start, or you can also head over into the Washington side with Highway 14. However, if you want to experience this path in the best way possible, we suggest you take the Historic Columbia River Highway. There are great viewpoints along the route, including Multnomah Falls and Vista House, which are open to the public without a permit in the fall!

Mt. Hood Scenic Byway

Mt. Hood scenic byway is a great way to view the fall beauty that lies within Mt. Hood National Forest. The road spans the reach from Sandy to Hood River as well. The great part too is that you can hit this trail when you do Columbia River Gorge as well. Additionally, in this area, there are great hikes available as well. We recommend Mirror Lake or Tamanawas Falls!

Silver Falls Tour Route

This 55 mile trek from Woodburn to Turner is a great way to explore some beautiful small towns in the state. Along the way you will find the quaint, Bavarian style town of Mt. Angel and the Silver Falls State Park. There are great places for light, small-town shopping, hikes, picnics, and more! We highly recommend walking the Trail of Ten Falls!

Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway

Found in central Oregon, there is a beautiful 66 mile scenic route that takes you through the Cascade Mountains and around the Cascade Lakes. You will also travel through the Deschutes National Forest and will have the chance to view some truly incredible natural sights!
